The Fiat 500e Makes a Return for the 2024 Model Year
After being gone since 2019, the Fiat 500e returns for the 2024 model year. Since its time away, this European all-electric car received a makeover, and with it came a longer and wider wheelbase. And in the first for Fiat, the 500e won't be mass produced - instead, it will be released for a limited time at regular intervals in hopes of drumming up more interest. What's New for 2024?
With its staggered release, the first model to come out will be the Inspi(RED) model, which benefits Product Red and will raise money to help fund HIV and AIDS research. The second model will feature a set of trims called Inspired by Music, and the third is called Inspired by Beauty.
2024 Fiat 500e Trims
The 2024 Fiat 500e is available in three trims: Inspi(RED), Music, and Beauty.
RED: This base trim is available with red painted exterior mirrors, LED headlights, front grille details and dashboard.
Music: The Beauty model is offered only in Rose Gold paint, and features feature a seven-speaker JBL stereo system, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors.
Beauty: The Beauty model is equipped similarly to the Music trim but is offered only in Rose Gold paint.
Interior/Exterior
While the exterior and size of the 500e are mostly unchanged from previous generations, the interior, thankfully, is a different story. With more upscale and modern features, the cabin is much more comfortable and has added space for more interior storage. Additionally, Fiat is banking on buyer nostalgia as the cabin's shapes and details mirror that of the classic 1957 Fiat 500. The 500e will also be offered in hatchback and convertible forms, the latter featuring a cloth roof that retracts while leaving the roof's side pillars in place.
Performance
Powering the new 500e is a 42-kWh battery and a single electric motor mounted on the front axle to provide front-wheel drive. This setup offers 118 hp and 162 lbs.-ft of torque. Due to its single motor and small battery, the 500e is best suited for daily commutes as it only has 149 miles of range. According to Fiat, the 500e can be recharged at any DC charging station, and it can replenish 31 miles of range in just five minutes.
Technology
Installed in the 500e model is a large 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen running on Fiat's latest software interface. A seven-inch digital gauge is also standard, with speed and battery charge readouts. A wireless smartphone charging pad, in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are also available.

The Fiat 500e is offered with basic safety features such as automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. But more advanced tech, such as adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature, are optional.
